Variety description

The black elder 'Black Beauty'® is an attractive variety that impresses with its upright, slightly sprawling habit, the glossy, dark brown (almost black) foliage and the pink to white flowers that exude a pleasant lemon scent. The fruits hanging in large panicles can be used in the kitchen, but can only be eaten when cooked. The Sambucus prefers a humus-rich soil and can thrive in full sun as well as in partial shade. Due to the cut, it can be shaped according to your own wishes. 'Black Beauty'® is ideal as a specimen plant or in a mixed group planting in the garden.
