Variety description

The elder variety 'Ranch' is a selection of the Canadian elder species Sambucus canadiensis. In contrast to our native elderberry bushes, this variety remains very compact and reaches a maximum height of 2 meters. The mega umbels stand upright and envelop the wild fruit plant in a white sea of blossoms for weeks. The black fruits are very productive and ideally suited for processing. The 'Ranch' elder is characterized by extreme adaptability and thrives in very poor soil as well as in extreme heat or severe frost. An impressive addition to the existing elderberry range.
