Variety description

In the past, a blackcurrant bush was planted next to the "real" currants for processing. That was once. With the Cassissima® series, Lubera has already proven that cassis berries are really good snack fruits today. And with the new Blackn'n'Red®, the good old cassis shrub even becomes an ornamental shrub!

'Premiere'® is truly the perfect cultivar name for the first red-leaved cassis variety. Botanical detail: the leaves sprout green in spring and turn more and more dark red in the sun! This means that fresh green, light new shoots protrude from the dark center of the bush in summer. Fascinating, because it's usually exactly the opposite... The "wallflower" called "black currant" is becoming a beauty queen, who would have thought it. Blackn'n'Red® 'Premiere'® is the first cassis variety that deserves a unique position in the garden!
