Variety description

The real tea Fresh-T® 'Bloomtea®' is by far the fastest growing tea variety in our range. With a regular harvest, Fresh-T® 'Bloomtea®' plants can be kept to a final height of around 150 cm, both in the pot and when planted out. Regardless of whether it is in a pot or planted, it is important that Fresh-T® 'Bloomtea®', like all other Fresh-T® varieties, requires acidic soil or an acidic substrate. In terms of location, it is better to choose a partially shaded location than a location in full sun. On the one hand, this is better for the tea quality and, on the other hand, in a semi-shady location there are fewer problems with dry damage in winter temperatures.

In contrast to the other Fresh-T® varieties, Fresh-T® 'Bloomtea®' is characterized by strong and intense flowering in autumn. From September onwards, when the first winter frosts arrive, numerous flowers adorn the Fresh-T® 'Bloomtea®' plants. In addition to the usual shoot peaks in spring, Fresh-T® 'Bloomtea®' is ideal for harvesting the flowers and infusing them fresh as tea. Unfortunately, the process of infusing tea flowers into tea is far too little known. It's a real treat for both the eyes and the palate. The flowers of Fresh-T® 'Bloomtea®' retain their structure and color even when brewed with hot water, but release an intense green tea taste. In addition to the pure green tea aroma, Fresh-T® 'Bloomtea®' also has a fine accentuated acidity, which makes the tea a refreshing drink.
