Variety description

The real tea Fresh-T® 'Tearoma®' has the most intense green and black tea aroma of all Fresh-T® varieties. With medium growth and regular harvesting, Fresh-T® 'Tearoma®' plants can easily be kept at a height of 100 cm. It doesn't matter much whether the plants are grown in a container or planted out in the garden. The only important thing when cultivating Fresh-T® 'Tearoma®' is that acidic soil or an acidic substrate is used. Like all Fresh-T® varieties, Fresh-T® 'Tearoma®' should be placed in partial shade rather than full sun. On the one hand, the tea quality improves and on the other hand, it prevents dry damage caused by winter temperatures.

In terms of taste, Fresh-T® 'Tearoma®' has the most intense tea aromas. The fresh tea, i.e. the tea that is made from the freshly picked and directly brewed shoot tips, tastes clearly of sorrel and also has its typical slight acidity. When you enjoy the tea, clear green tea notes emerge and the bitter taste components typical of black tea come through in the finish. The flower tea, i.e. the tea that is made from the freshly brewed flowers, smells intensively in the nose. With predominantly floral but also light hay notes. When you enjoy the flower tea from Fresh-T® 'Tearoma®', you can taste a slight acidity that goes very well with a typical green tea aroma. In the finish there is also a slight bitterness in the flower tea, as is the case with black tea.

Before enjoying it, however, comes the harvesting of the tea and it is not as complicated as you might think. The freshly opened flowers are used for flower tea and the fresh shoots are picked in spring for fresh tea. Here you really only pick the very young and fresh tips - the terminal bud plus one or a maximum of two leaves
