Variety description

The Gustissimo® 'Ficcolino'® fig is one of the most compact figs in the range. It grows naturally bushier and more branched than most other fig varieties and is somewhat weaker than 'Goutte d'Or'. However, it has significant advantages over the latter: the summer figs ripen on last year's wood already at the end of June, quasi in the middle of the berry season, which is why we gave it the name "berry fig". The autumn harvest on this year's wood is also somewhat earlier and stronger, and the variety is also very hardy. This makes it an interesting option for cultivation in containers, where it grows only about 1 m high. When planted out, it reaches almost 2 m after 10 years.
