Variety description

The Jostabeere Jofruity® is an early-ripening variety that ripens at the beginning of July and has a refreshing, fruity taste without a cassis aroma. It has a compact habit and is very productive. Compared to other Josta varieties, it is slow-growing, only reaches a height of approx. 120-140 cm and forms arching long shoots. The wood needs to be rejuvenated and renewed a little more quickly than with other Confi® berries. Jofruity® is resistant to leaf fall and fungal diseases, the fruits are smaller in proportion, but the fertility is higher than other Confi® berries. The taste is neutrally fruity and more reminiscent of gooseberries. The pruning is similar to that of the black currant, with the fruit shoots being pruned back heavily from the 3rd or 4th year and 2 or more old shoots being removed every year to encourage the growth of new long shoots.
