Variety description

If you are looking for a Himber dwarf, you will find it in Lowberry® 'Little Blue Wonder'. It is a hybrid between A. corymbosum and A. angustifolium. The variety grows very compactly, only 40 - 60 cm high and is therefore perfect for pot culture. But not only because of that, it is also very robust and extremely hardy. Even very low winter temperatures below -30° C do not bother her. You only have to be alert when there is a threat of late frost. This is because Lowberry® 'Little Blue Wonder' begins to sprout early in the spring. A bit of fleece during tricky nights can therefore be useful. If you plant Lowberry® 'Little Blue Wonder': please do not plant in the mildest location, as this will encourage early budding - or just offer short-term protection, because the variety also flowers a little earlier than most of its colleagues. The white blossoms are very lush and last a long time - which is why they are also called heather-blueberries in reference to heather.
The fruits are a bit smaller than other varieties, but they taste fresh, aromatic and are a wonderful sky blue. Very tasty for snacking. When processed, it is also full-bodied, probably due to sufficient acidity, the lack of which has a rather disadvantageous effect on some very mild processed varieties. Last but not least: Lowberry® 'Little Blue Wonder' is also a highlight during the autumn colors - a real berry miracle!
