Variety description

The apple trees in the Redlove® series are probably the most striking apple trees around. And in the Redlove® range, Redlove® 'Calypso®' is probably the most aromatic variety. The small to medium-sized apples from Redlove® 'Calypso®' have a rounded, flat shape and are colored dark red across the surface. They also impress with a very firm texture; Redlove® 'Calypso®' retains this firmness even in storage. Redlove® 'Calypso®' reached ripeness for picking in the second half of September. However, it still takes a few weeks in storage until the apples are ready to eat. Then the apples taste extremely aromatic with a good portion of fructose and a clear but pleasant acidity. When stored, Redlove® 'Calypso®' apples will last until after Christmas.

The Redlove® 'Calypso®' trees have weak to medium growth and branch very well even without supportive pruning measures. Like all Redlove 4 apples, Redlove® 'Calypso®' is scab-resistant and therefore suitable for every home garden
