Variety description

The Cassissima® ‘Night Sky®’ blackcurrant stands out in particular for its striking fruit. The medium-sized fruit of Cassissima® ‘Night Sky®’ appear speckled due to the clearly visible lenticels on the skin. The appearance of the fruit is reminiscent of a starry night sky. In terms of flavour, Cassissima® ‘Night Sky®’ is a thoroughly typical blackcurrant with a pronounced cassis aroma, a fresh, fruity taste and a distinct yet pleasant acidity that is balanced by sufficient sweetness.

Cassissima® ‘Night Sky®’ plants have a bushy, upright growth habit. When fully grown, Cassissima® ‘Night Sky®’ reaches a height of up to 150 cm. The harvest period for Cassissima® ‘Night Sky®’ runs from late June to early July. For the best flavour, the fruit should be harvested when fully ripe. To achieve this, you should wait a further 10–14 days after the colour change.
