Variety description

With the open-field tomato variety OpenSky® 'Tombonne®', we also have a vine tomato or salad tomato in our range. The fruits of OpenSky® 'Tombonne®' are significantly larger than those of cherry tomatoes, but the open field tomato OpenSky® 'Tombonne®' is a rather small truss tomato. In terms of taste, however, it is not quite as sweet as the cherry varieties, and it does not have to be. In our opinion, a salad tomato can be less sweet and also bring some acidity with it. OpenSky® 'Tombonne®' also has a higher meat content.
OpenSky® 'Tombonne®' is also resistant to late blight (Phytophthora) and remains healthy until the first frost in autumn. In terms of growth, OpenSky® 'Tombonne®' is much more reduced than the cherry varieties and, even when grown as a single shoot, it is a maximum of 200 cm high. Nevertheless, OpenSky® 'Tombonne®' can also be grown with two shoots, in which case the plants only reach a height of around 180 cm.
