Variety description

The Gustissimo® 'Twotimer®' fig is a classic twice-bearing fig variety. It is not one of the vigorous figs. The first harvest comes from the summer figs that develop on last year's wood. These figs are quite large, pear-shaped, almost banana-shaped with long stems. They are reddish brown in colour when fully ripe. Autumn figs develop on the shoots of the current year. They are more compact and also somewhat smaller. Autumn figs ripen from the end of September and turn reddish purple when fully ripe.
To ensure that enough figs of the second harvest ripen in autumn, a sheltered, sunny and warm location is important. The soil should be well-drained. This variety is also suitable for pots.
