Variety description

The evergreen cabbage Everkale® ‘Greenwave®’ is a very vigorous tree cabbage that spreads out more than it grows tall. Everkale® ‘Greenwave®’ is a typical leaf cabbage with a rather fine and unobtrusive leaf structure. Over the summer, the leaves of Everkale® ‘Greenwave®’ are pure green. As soon as the nights turn colder in autumn, the leaves take on a slight purple tinge. In terms of flavour, Everkale® ‘Greenwave®’ has a mild cabbage aroma, which is slightly more intense in summer and becomes a little sweeter over winter.

There are two main harvest periods for tree cabbage: once in early summer, when the plants are actively growing, And a second in autumn/winter. Due to the cold temperatures over winter, the leaves generally taste slightly milder and sweeter.

As a plant, Everkale® ‘Greenwave®’ grows into a broad, bushy shape with numerous shoots. Everkale® ‘Greenwave®’ reaches a height of only about 80 cm, but spreads to over a metre in width.
