Variety description

'Blue Moon' is not only a representative of the lowbush Firstberries®, but the most compact of all Firstberries®. The variety grows only around 60 to a maximum of 90 cm high. Thanks to its Japanese origin, the foliage is very healthy and still has ornamental value in early autumn. For this reason, the plant is worth considering not only as a pure shrub berry but also as a low hedge. It can be pruned very easily to around 50 x 50 cm.

'Blue Moon' blooms in mid-April and is thus the last of all the Firstberries®. These are also called double berries because the flowers always appear in pairs. We recommend 'Blue Sea' as a pollinator plant. Like all Firstberries®, 'Blue Moon' is absolutely hardy.
