Variety description

The blackberry 'Chef® Br 22-01' opens a completely new chapter in blackberry breeding. Our blackberry variety 'Chef® Br 22-01' differs significantly from other blackberry varieties, including our Navaho® blackberries. But what exactly is the difference between 'Chef® Br 22-01' and the other blackberries?

'Chef® Br 22-01' produces very large fruits, with an average weight of 10 g, which shine in a rich black colour. In addition to its external qualities, 'Chef® Br 22-01' also impresses with its internal qualities. The fruits are pleasantly sweet and have a subtle acidity. This gives the fruit a surprisingly fruity and well-balanced flavour. The fruits have a Brix value of up to 13° Bx. The long harvest window of 'Chef® Br 22-01' is also surprising. The first fruits ripen at the end of June/beginning of July; the last fruits can then be harvested in mid/late August.

'Chef® Br 22-01' differs from Navaho® blackberries primarily in its growth habit, as 'Chef® Br 22-01' has a slightly arching, overhanging growth habit. A growth habit that can often be found away from Navaho® blackberries.
