Variety description

'Brigitta Blue' is a late-ripening cultivated blueberry. The berries are large to very large and firm, making the strain particularly suitable for commercial cultivation. It also delivers regular and high yields. Although self-fertile, the yield of 'Brigitta Blue' can also be increased by planting a second plant of a different variety.
'Brigitta Blue' grows stiffly upright. A full sun location is ideal. If its growth potential is maintained through regular, vigorous pruning in early spring, it will grow bushy and reach a height of around 120 - 140 cm. 'Brigitta Blue' flowers light pink to white in May. Like all cultivated blueberries, their flowers are an excellent source of food for bees and other insects and are very popular with birds. The taste of the berries is pleasantly refreshing with some acidity. They keep well and are perfect for freezing.
