Variety description

With the ‘Dolce’ kiwi variety (PJK1PBR), we have added a yellow-fleshed variety to our range of large-fruited kiwis. The yellow-fleshed ‘Dolce’ kiwi variety is characterised by its large, yellow-fleshed fruits. The ‘Dolce’ kiwi has a wonderfully sweet and pleasantly mild flavour. The sharp acidity so typical of the large-fruited green varieties is absent in the ‘Dolce’ kiwi. The large brown fruits have the slightly hairy skin typical of yellow-fleshed varieties, which actually feels more like a fine down.

The ‘Dolce’ kiwi ripens from late October to early November. Fruits that are not yet fully ripe can be harvested before the first frosts and ripen well when stored alongside an apple.

‘Dolce’ kiwi plants are vigorous climbers that can easily reach a height of up to 5 and require a supporting trellis for optimal growth.
