Variety description

The strawberry raspberry is a botanical rarity and strictly speaking not even a "real" raspberry but just a close relative. The large red aggregate fruits also detach from the cone like a raspberry and the appearance of the fruits has a certain similarity to strawberries. In terms of usage, the strawberry raspberry is somewhere between strawberries and raspberries. The deciduous shrub with its herbaceous shoots, which are only about 40 cm high, is an ideal ground cover. Because a dense network of roots creates a dense carpet of plants in spring, which impresses with large white flowers and large, shiny fruits in summer.

In terms of tasting, the strawberry raspberry is still close to the raspberries and the strawberries. Unfortunately, the large, shiny and fiery red fruits do not have much to offer in terms of taste. They are mainly sweet and unfortunately sometimes a bit watery, but otherwise not much more. Unfortunately, the biggest shortcoming of the strawberry raspberry.
