Variety description

The pomegranate 'Haku Botan' originally comes from Japan and is both an ornamental plant and a fruit tree. The cream-colored double flowers are beautiful and appear throughout the summer. The fruits are green-yellow with white flesh when fully ripe. This contains very little acid and is perfect for juicing. The seeds are medium-sized and hard. Very healthy plants, which are hardy to about -10 °C. The shrubs bear early and the variety is considered to be relatively precocious. Also suitable for cooler and rainy locations. Here the fruit setting is much better than with other varieties.
