Variety description

With the Primberry® ‘Purple Love’ autumn raspberry, we are delighted to offer you the first completely thornless autumn raspberry with purple-violet fruit. The large fruits of Primberry® ‘Purple Love’ are exceptionally juicy and sweet. Gradually, the very subtle tartness and fruitiness of red raspberries come to the fore, and the finish reveals the typical, exotic flavours of black raspberries. Another characteristic typical of black raspberries and their descendants is the whitish bloom on the fruit, which Primberry® ‘Purple Love’ also displays.

In terms of growth habit, Primberry® ‘Purple Love’ is of medium vigour. Due to the large clusters of flowers at the ends of the shoots and the fruit that develops from them, Primberry® ‘Purple Love’ takes on a slightly overhanging growth habit. Amongst raspberries that bear fruit on one-year-old canes, Primberry® ‘Purple Love’ is comparatively early. The ripening period for Primberry® ‘Purple Love’ begins at the end of July and ends in the second half of September. Throughout this entire period, the countless fruits ripen evenly and in succession.
