Variety description

The blueberry 'Hortblue Petite' is an exotic blueberry. It flowers and bears fruit twice in a row, which no other cultivated blueberry has been able to do so far! The first harvest phase is from mid-July to mid-August. From August, the variety then shows a new growth spurt and begins to flower again. From mid-September, these flowers then lead to a second harvest, the fruits of which are somewhat larger than the summer berries. The berries are dark blue and very rich in anthocyanins.
'Hortblue Petite' is a breeding success from New Zealand. It is a hybrid between C. corymbosum and the very cold-resistant C. angustifolium. The hybrid is deciduous - almost a prerequisite for the particularly good winter hardiness. 'Hortblue Petite' says goodbye to the garden year with a very attractive, colorful final bouquet.
In terms of care, this interesting hybrid behaves like other cultivated blueberries. Whether planted out or in a pot, acidic soil is the basis, you also use acidic fertilizers and pay attention to the supply of water.
