Variety description

The 'Livingstone(PBR)' variety is one of the first ever-bearing rhubarb varieties. The special thing about 'Livingstone(PBR)' and the other long-bearing rhubarb varieties is that these plants continue to grow and constantly form new leaves over the summer - i.e. after Johanni (June 24th). This summer growth is so strong that a harvest will not have any negative effects on the plant. You can also harvest fresh rhubarb from your own garden in summer with peace of mind. Even with the long-bearing varieties, the main harvest is in spring - here a large number of new leaves and leaf stalks are formed in a short time - but a continuous harvest over the entire vegetation period is possible.
Livingstone is a medium to strong growing variety with long, not too thick leaf stalks and spreading leaves. The petioles are pinkish-red on the outside at the base, but otherwise basically green-fleshed.
