Variety description

Loch Ness was a taste milestone in stingless blackberries and is now the most widely grown variety in blackberry production. The problem-free cultivation, combined with a long harvest time, high yields, thornlessness and good picking properties have given her this position in commercial cultivation. It grows medium strong and quite upright, which is why it should be raised on a trellis.
The thornless bramble 'Loch Ness' blooms quite early. The berries ripen very slowly. They are large, relatively firm and shiny black.

Worn canes are removed close to the ground after harvest. The new rods are tied more horizontally, as they then set more fruit.
