Variety description

Salmon raspberry or ornamental raspberry are two names for 'Olympic Double' that are correct and describe the botanical origin, but they do not do justice to the variety, a suitable name would be "splendid raspberry". Because of the large and bright pink flowers - which are almost reminiscent of an English rose - the salmon raspberry 'Olympic Double' is a magnificent and eye-catching ornamental shrub. And this is where the main purpose lies, the salmonberry 'Olympic Double' is to be seen more as an ornamental shrub with edible fruits than as a purely fruit-bearing shrub.
The fruits of 'Olympic Double' are yellow-orange to bright red in color and have a sweet, fruity taste. Due to the densely filled flowers, however, 'Olympic Double' does not produce as many fruits as its single-flowered sister variety 'Pacific Rose'.
