Variety description

'Peters Beste' comes from the Austrian breeder Peter Haslhofer. It grows vigorously, but remains perhaps a little bushier and more compact like 'Little (Big) Buddha'. 'Peters Beste' also needs hardly any fertiliser. Like all Cape gooseberries, it loves a sunny, warm location.

The outstanding thing about 'Peters Beste' is its fruitfulness and great aroma. You can expect 200 fruits per plant. These are about 1 cm in diameter and thus considerably smaller than those of 'Little (Big) Buddha', but very aromatically sweet, with a little coconut and above all a strong vanilla note.
