Variety description

The summer raspberry 'Rubaca' was bred in the 1990s at the Department of Fruit Production at the Technical University of Munich. 'Rubaca' is a medium-late summer raspberry with medium-sized fruits that are attractive to look at. 'Rubaca' is medium-strong in growth, which makes it easier to harvest and care for in the home garden, but with only a few young canes growing up. The strong but slightly overhanging rods are covered with a multitude of fine spines.
The attractive but only medium-sized fruits have a broadly conical to oval shape and are slightly shiny. The taste is sweet and aromatic, due to the fairly firm fruits, these are only moderately juicy.
Basically, 'Rubaca' is a very healthy and robust variety and is described as being resistant to Phytophthora root rot.
