Variety description

The black chokeberry 'Rubin' is a beautiful and productive shrub. The white flowers are very similar to apple blossoms. The flowers appear in large, flat umbels with up to 20 individual flowers. Large crimson anthers symmetrically distributed over the petals make the flowers look like they are dotted. What pleases us humans also seems to be very attractive to bees - chokeberries are very popular bee pastures. From late summer onwards, the increasingly dark berries adorn the shrub, followed by an attractive autumn colouring of the shrub in October and November.
