Variety description

The American counterpart to the European cranberry is the cranberry, also known as the cranberry. 'Stevens' grows creeping like the cranberry, but less ground-covering, makes long thin tendrils and rarely exceeds 20 cm. It is also best used as an underplant for bog beds. Flowering time is in June-July, the flowers are white-pink and self-fertile. The tart, sour and very healthy berries of 'Stevens' are ripe from the beginning of October. They are crimson and can be stored well. 'Stevens' is a very commonly used variety for commercial cultivation in North America.
