Variety description

'Tayberry' is a 1960's Blackberry-Raspberry hybrid originating in Scotland. The hybrid is very robust, undemanding and fast-growing. The rods are a good 3 m long and are densely covered with spikes. 'Tayberry' grows like a normal blackberry and is cut in the same way.
It prefers a warm, sunny spot and flowers in May. Maturity starts at the end of June, it is concentrated and lasts until mid-July.
'Tayberry' fruits are raspberry-like in appearance, large, bright red and somewhat conical. The flesh is rather soft.
