Variety description

The Thanksgiver® ‘Orange’ sweet potato variety is a high-yielding variety with the typical orange flesh found in many sweet potato products. The large tubers have an orange-yellow skin and a deep orange-coloured flesh. When cooked, Thanksgiver® ‘Orange’ does not taste too sweet – significantly less sweet than the Sugaroot® varieties – with distinct chestnut notes and a dry, potato-like texture.

Thanksgiver® ‘Orange’ plants are vigorous and have a trailing growth habit. The deeply lobed, dark green leaves are visually appealing, particularly when combined with the burgundy-red new growth.

If planted by the end of May, harvesting can begin from the end of September. The longer the tubers remain in the ground, the larger they can grow.
