Variety description

Die Süßkartoffelsorte Thanksgiver® ‘Purple’  ist die violett-fleischige ertragsstarke Sorte. Die großen Knollen von Thanksgiver® ‘Purple’ haben – wie üblich bei violett-fleischigen Sorten – eine violett-rote Schalenfarbe und ein auffallend tief-violettes Fruchtfleisch. Im gegarten Zustand hat Thanksgiver® ‘Purple’ eine mehlig-cremige aber nicht zu schmelzende Konzistenz. Geschmacklich ist Thanksgiver® ‘Purple’ weniger süß als die violette Sorte aus der Sugaroot® Serie. Darüber hinaus schmeckt man bei Thanksgiver® ‘Purple’ deutliche florale Noten und Noten von dunkler Schokolade.

Als Pflanze ist Thanksgiver® ‘Purple’ starkwachsend und rankend mit dunkelgrünem Laub und rötlichem Austrieb.

Bei einer Pflanzung bis Ende Mai kann ab Ende September geerntet werden. Je länger die Knollen im Boden bleiben, desto größer können diese werden.
