Variety description

The rhubarb variety 'Victoria' is one of the oldest rhubarb varieties that can still be found on the market. Its name goes back to the British Queen of the same name. 'Victoria' is a true yielder, at least as far as the individual weight of the petioles is concerned. The petioles of 'Victoria' can weigh up to 1 kg. Such heavyweights usually have a diameter of 5-7 cm or more.
The 'Victoria' rhubarb is one of the fast-growing varieties and is a pure spring rhubarb that stops growing in summer and begins to pull in early. The extraordinarily thick petioles have, like many rhubarb, a red color at the base, but are otherwise entirely green-stalked or green-fleshed.
