Variety description

Garlic chives indicates in its name that the leaves of the plant - and also the flowers - are used instead of the bulb. The flattened, tubular foliage of the perennial has a fine, mild garlic flavour. The white flowers that form in the second half of summer are also interesting. They have a sweet and spicy note. Most interesting is that this ""garlic in leaf form"" does not cause unpleasant bad breath - conclusion: this is the better garlic!
Garlic chives are undemanding, but in a fertile vegetable soil they grow better and the foliage is milder. The advantages of garlic chives, i.e. young plants as opposed to bulbs that are pressed into the soil, are obvious: the plants grow quickly and reliably, and the harvest can begin practically immediately. From July to September, garlic chives form pretty, white flower cushions. These should not be missed because the garlic chives have delicate, sweet, subtly violet-scented flowers. This is the perfect addition to leafy salads or as edible decoration on all kinds of dishes.
