Variety description

Buckingham Tayberry' is a thornless variant of the well-known variety 'Tayberry'. It grows a little more compact and weaker than this one. The fruits are very large, somewhat cylindrical and purple in color when ripe. They should definitely be harvested when fully ripe, then the aroma is a bit fuller and also digestible for fresh enjoyment. The early ripening time is interesting, which corresponds more to summer raspberries and does not have classic blackberries to offer. It begins in mid-June and lasts until the end of July.
'Buckingham Tayberry' is cut like classic blackberries. So it carries on the two-year-old shoots, which are cut away at ground level after the harvest. Tayberries are healthy and vigorous, but winter hardiness is somewhat reduced.
