Variety description

The rhubarb 'Canada Red' is a pure spring rhubarb with blood-red petioles, which are also completely red on the inside. 'Canada Red' is characterized by medium-strong growth with a high number of leaf stalks. After the longest day, growth slows down noticeably and stops completely by midsummer.
The red-fleshed leaf stalks retain their bright red color even when processed and have a mild, yet typical rhubarb taste.
